SeamTogether

Meet Polly and Esther, two eccentric seamstresses likened to a modern day Tweedle-dum and Tweedle-dee.

SeamTogether is a 40-minute interactive and hands-on experience for small audience numbers. Stories are told and shared within the intimate setting of the traveling menagerie (a pop-up tent) which is made from upcycled and donated fabrics. Audience members are invited to fill a bag upon entry of the haberdashery to be used during the show. During the show, the audience is invited to learn new skills or share their skills as part of the performance experience to contribute to a collaborative sculptural artwork held in the menagerie.

SeamTogether aims to create connections to our clothing and spark ideas of how to transform garments or fix them to give them new life. Part performance—part making space, SeamTogether fuses comic performance, audio stories and audience participation to create a hands-on experience for all ages.

This creative development was funded by Moreton Bay Regional Council’s Regional Arts Development Fund and through Regional Arts Fund.
