The SeamStresses was founded in 2013 by two firm friends largely as an excuse to justify their rather unhealthy fabric-buying habits.
As it turned out, they were rather good at choosing eye-catching fabrics and once they’d designed some rather nifty childrenswear (informed by their personal parenting experiences) they found they had become a brand.
Years later, Ailsa has moved on to pursuing her teaching career but Paula continues to design and sew
and provide project management consultancy to various clients and run Doha Designs and generally keep slightly busier than is truly sensible.
The pair are still firm friends and both fervently hope that one day they can resume their side-by-side-sewing-sessions even if they have to wait for there to be GrandbabySeamStressettes to entertain.
